But you're a girl!

You're a girl: You shouldn't be so strong.

You're a girl: You should be wearing pink.

You're a girl: You shouldn't kick so hard.

You're a girl: You should admit you're wrong.

You're a girl: You shouldn't want ink.

You're a girl: You shouldn't want to go so far.

You're a girl: You should be a lady.

You're a girl: You should wear a dress.

You're a girl: You really want to compete?

You're a girl: What respectable man will marry you?

You're a girl: This is what you want to do?

                                            Yes!

  1. I hardly ever wear pink, but I am blonde,
I'm not that "girly", but I do wear make-up,
I would rather sleep late, and write all night.
People are never what they are expected to be...that is what makes us individuals!
Choose to be a leader, not a sheep!

  2. :)
I am very much the same! (Except for the blonde lol)
I love that I don't live up to other's expectations, I've had a lot of those lines said to me, and it just rubs me the wrong way when I'm told I should be or do more girly things.
I love doing unconventional things, such as learning how to fight!
Can't stand being told I should be or shouldn't be doing something because I'm a girl...
Just makes me all the more determined to do what I want! ;)

hehe, it's great writing a blog late at night, then to wake up in the morning and you've written to it, puts a smile on my face :)

  3. Ha. This is intense!
I'm a girl, but I never act as one. 90% of the time, I'm stronger than the guys. I was sitting with 3 of my guy friends once, and another guy started an argument. I was the GIRL who stood up for all four of us, while my 3 GUY friends sat there.
    I'm not girly at all..
I'm a girl. I also hate when people tell me what to do.

I love this post!. It makes me feel strong.

  4. :D awesome to hear that!!
I am training to be an MMA fighter, and it took a few good weeks for my trainer to realise I can pack a kick more powerful than most guys! ;) He apologised for underestimating me haha!
It's good to know there are girls out there not afraid to go against the expectations of others!! :)

  5. Some people are good at commenting on their dislike of how people place expectations on them...they should also reflect if they do it themselves.............do they not judge, comment, and voice opinion. Do they not make other people feel bad also? Who among us can say we honestly dont? To exist in this world we come stamped with preordaned expectations...from society, family, friends, work...we are "expected" to fit in. It is a strong person that can swim against the tide ...to find out who they really are..and they should be grateful they have the luxury of doing so. Some do not have the opportunity and spend a life time dreaming "what if"? Some sadly come to the end of their days and feel completely unfilled never to have dared, or perhaps they were responsible for other peoples lives and never had the time to find themselves. Do not mistake caring as interference...do not mistake love as control.......be glad someone has enough interest in you to care at all...you my love are very precious to many, and many are very proud of you! Many never want to see you hurt..we know we cant protect you ..and you have to fly on your own...but remember that you would be sad if no one cared enough about you to even try to protect you...do not let lifes hardness develop a shell around you that prevents you seeing clearly..Fly ..be free...let us see the magic in your eyes ...we love you no matter what! xoxoxox
